Our Elka Engineered Native Oak Hand Sawn Hardwood flooring is a fumed product which means the darkness of the wood can vary as it’s dependent on the tannin content and the tannin content depends on the origin of the oak. This product grading is D & E which means this has large repaired sunken splits, small unrepaired splits to add character to the product. The variations within the grades are open with longer rays than red oak. There are occasional crotches, swirls and burls and the plain sawn board have a plumed or flared grain appearance.
