Treated timber is suitable to be used externally and is suitable for wet areas or areas where the timber will be coming into contact with the ground. Examples of treated timber uses are outdoor decking, shed bases, posts, sleepers. Regularised timber has gone through a machine which rounds the edges and smooths the faces and sides of the piece. This operation uniforms the finished size which will usually be 5mm less than stated on both the face and width.
